PublicationsThe vision of the Pain in Motion Pediatrics research line is to advance the understanding and management of pediatric pain by exploring the unique biopsychosocial and developmental aspects of pain in children, adolescents and young adults. Through innovative research, we aim to improve the recognition, treatment, and long-term outcomes for children, adolescents, and young adults (experiencing pain).
The Pain in Motion Pediatrics research line investigates the underlying mechanisms, determinants and risk factors, and pain management approaches for (acute and persistent) pain in children, adolescents, and young adults. Guided by a biopsychosocial and socio-ecological framework, our research spans healthy and clinical populations, aiming to identify modifiable factors, inform evidence-based interventions, and enhance pain assessment and treatment. By addressing pain from an integrative perspective, this research line seeks to improve outcomes and empower both young individuals as well as their support systems.
